What is the price of a shipping container delivery by crane truck?
The cost of a delivery with unloading by crane truck depends primarily on the distance between its starting point and your site, as well as the size of the container (mainly 20 or 40 feet).
Transportation package: It includes loading at our site and the journey.

What are the necessary dimensions for the truck to pass through?
Accessibility is the key factor for a successful delivery. A truck transporting a container requires:
- Clearance height: Minimum 4,50 meters (bridges, cables, warehouse entrances).
- Lane width: Minimum 3 meters for the truck, but allow more than 6 meters for turning maneuvers.
- Total length : Up to 19 meters for a semi-trailer transporting a 40-foot boat.
Always check for the absence of soft ground or overhangs (trees, power lines) that could block the crane arm.
Do you need a permit from the road authority to unload a container?
If the unloading takes place on a private propertyNo road occupancy permit is required. However, if the truck needs to park on the roadway or if the container is temporarily placed on public property:
Parking fees may apply depending on the municipality. Cubner can assist you in validating the logistical constraints related to your urban environment.
You must apply for a Temporary Occupation Permit (AOT) at your town hall.
The request must generally be made 15 days before the scheduled date.
Is it possible to unload a container on soft or unstable ground?
It is strongly advised against placing a container directly on soil or grass. The weight of the container (between 2 and 4 tons empty), combined with soil moisture, can cause it to sink and thus prevent the doors from opening properly.
- The risk : A container that sinks will no longer be able to open properly (twisting of the structure).
- The solution : Plan for at least the special container chocks at the four corners or a bed of stabilized gravel.
Our drivers reserve the right to refuse unloading if they judge that the ground presents a risk of the carrier getting stuck.
Delivery by flatbed truck vs. crane truck: what's the difference?
Flatbed truck (TSD): This is the least expensive solution. However, unloading is your responsibilityYou must have a high-capacity forklift or crane on site.
Crane truck (TAD): The vehicle is equipped with an articulated arm. The driver places the container at the desired location (within a radius of 5 to 10 meters around the truck).
Side-Loader: For very narrow spaces, the container is placed sideways along the truck.
