The range of containers

Often, when we talk about shipping containers in general, we immediately think of transport by sea, which is completely understandable since their main use is the transport of goods around the world. However, their usefulness is not limited to this, as these large metal boxes can be transformed into various other structures such as homes, workshops or container storage spaces.

✅ What is the use of a container?

Choosing a shipping container will always depend on what you plan to use it for, and there are currently four main categories of containers.

  1. containers STANDARD : These containers are the most commonly used and are often intended for the storage of goods, on construction sites, in agriculture or even in car garages. Their strength, waterproofness, mobility and economical cost make them resistant to weather conditions. They are available in different sizes, including 10, 20, 40 and 45 feet.
  2. containers HIGH CUBE : These containers offer the same advantages as standard containers, with the added bonus of approximately 30cm of additional height (interior and exterior).
  3. containers REFRIGERATORS (or reefer container): Specially designed for the storage and transport of perishable products, these containers, also called Reefer containers, are equipped with an industrial refrigeration system operating at 400V three-phase, allowing temperatures to be maintained between -25°C and +25°C.
  4. containers SPECIFIC : specific containers are studied and designed to meet very specific needs, particularly in maritime transport, to transport very bulky parts (for example, excavator tires). They are different by their particular characteristics, in particular Open Top containers (the roof is tarpaulin or Hard-top, solid), containers Open Side (with side openings), tank shipping containers (for liquids and gases) and double door containers (with two double doors at the ends).

Not all of our containers are just for storage; they can also be converted into extensions of houses, studios, restaurants, etc. They offer great flexibility in terms of customization, with options such as different openings, choice of materials, painting, etc. Find here CALCUB, which is our company which transforms and tailor-made maritime containers.

Container designs are more affordable than traditional construction and can perfectly meet your needs. In addition, they are easily movable according to your preferences. You can choose from the container models in our range according to your needs.

🚀 Making the right choice: the criteria for the right choice

When you decide to choose a container, several factors must be taken into consideration, including its duration of use, its condition, its dimensions and its volume. Before making a purchase, together we can check all these points with you.

  1. Duration of use : Determine how long you will need the container. For short-term use, renting is often the best option. On the other hand, if you plan on long-term use, purchasing may be the ideal solution. Don't forget to consider rental with option to purchase, a possibility offered by In'Box Container, ranging from 12 to 63 months.
  2. Condition : Good : The condition of the container is another aspect to take into account. If you are looking for a practical and affordable container, used containers can be a good option. In'Box Container guarantees the waterproofness and condition of the floor even for second-hand products. On the other hand, if the visual appearance is essential, opt for a new container which will not show signs of wear from maritime transport, with a structure without dents or rust.
  3. Cost : The price of a maritime container obviously depends on its size but also on the period. For example, a 6-foot storage container, with a capacity of 6 to 7m3, costs on average €2200. The models of 8 foot container, offering 9 to 10m3 of volume, are available between 2500 and 3500 €, while larger containers of 20 feet and more vary from 1500 to 5000 € depending on their condition (new or used).
  4. Place : Choose your container taking into account the location where it will be installed. Make sure this location is easily accessible, especially for the delivery truck (the sizes of the trucks are different depending on the container chosen). Be sure to check all aspects, including constraints with electrical cables, telecom poles, trees and branches, the width of the access route and the width of the access to your location (gate, etc.). We will always give you good advice to help you avoid making a mistake.
  5. Length : Shipping containers are available in various sizes, ranging from 6 to 45 feet. 6- to 10-foot models are popular on construction sites for storing materials and equipment. The 20ft containers are popular for their maneuverability and reduced weight, while the 40ft HIGH CUBE containers are ideal for residential uses or house extensions. Businesses in the food or agricultural sector can opt for 40-foot refrigerated containers to store products at low temperatures.
  6. Local regulations : Be sure to follow all local regulations regarding the use of containers on your property or in your area. Some areas may have strict rules on the use of containers as homes, for example.
